Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021
While I am not one to wish time away, I am looking forward to ushering in the New Year!
2020 was full of prospect and ended up being another successful year despite the challenges we all faced.
August 2020 ended our 70th year in business and rang in our 71st! Not only did our website receive a fresh update for our 70th birthday, so did much of our facility!
After several years of growth and new equipment additions- pharmaceutical folder, large format folder, new cutting system, new tabber and most notably our new press; the painted warehouse floors were showing a lot of wear and tear. If you can believe it, updating the floors took longer than some of our past building additions! However, the results were worth the time.
We have been fortunate to improve efficiency and production speed through equipment updates, but this year it was also necessary to add to our workforce. We welcomed Dalton to our team in May.
Speaking of additions, in April 2020, we began construction of a new garage to accommodate our delivery trucks. Our trucks were previously stored inside but shared the paper warehouse. Recent growth has made it necessary to dedicate a warehouse area to customer storage and a separate warehouse for paper storage.
Besides investing in the necessary equipment and facilities, we took some time to dress the place up. We have always had a flair for color, but new signage around the building brightens our workspace.
That’s me!
The most obvious change for 2020 was interaction; the lack of face-to-face interaction with our customers! To keep our employees and customers safe, our building was closed to guests, and visits to customers were put on hold. Since March we have maintained contact like most of the world- ZOOM, WEBEX, and TEAMS! As virtual meeting fatigue has set in, we are hoping for a return to “normal” in 2021!
All of us at Julin Printing wish you a safe and prosperous 2021!
